As you know, my car has been giving me trouble, and I've been getting more and more frustrated with it. When my repair shop told me last month I'd have to get some very expensive repairs to keep it safe, I was ready to throw in the towel. I took it to a different shop for a second opinion, and boy was it an interesting experience. They didn't find anything wrong with the car. The parts that the first shop said I needed to replace were in good condition. Are you sure you didn't mishear them? They said. Yes, I was very sure, because I took good notes.
So I think the first repair shop was trying to rip me off. The good news is that I've avoided unnecessary, expensive repairs. The bad news is -- how much has the first repair shop robbed me of over the last two years? They just kept finding repairs to do on my car. So that's the bad news.
I think I'll always get a second opinion on my car repair from now on.
