I guess we are going to try to move forward with the read-a-thon. We are going to change some things this time, because people are having such a hard time posting. You don't have to post all your review in individual threads this year, you can post a bunch in one thread.
Here is a link that might help with log in issues:
Starting date: Saturday, June 15th. End date: Saturday, August 31st. All reviews must be posted within these dates to count toward the individual and board totals. You may not post a review for a book you started before June 15th.
Children may also participate in this read-a-thon. Their books can be anything appropriate for their age or reading level. The reviews may be as simple as the child's name and reactions to the story. Specific thoughts on plot or character would be great for older children to practice analytical and reviewing skills, but this isn't a requirement.
Adult reviews should be on "chapter books," whether generally classified as children's (ex: The Chronicles of Narnia series), teen (ex: Twilight series) or adult. No audio books will be allowed for this read-a-thon. Reviews should include the participant's like or dislike of the book plus any other thoughts on the story. A synopsis or short book description is encouraged, but not necessary.
Each review must also contain the review number. This allows the Community Leader to easily track the individual and board totals. It also helps eliminate the possibility of read-a-thon totals being lost due to computer malfunctions.
Read-a-thon progress updates will be posted every two weeks on all participating boards, UNLESS I'M HAVING POSTING PROBLEMS!!! The update will include individual and board totals.
