It's been FAR too long since I've poked my head in here. HI LADIES!!!
I quit smoking on May 4th and it seems to be sticking this time. I spent the last 5 and half weeks using my quit as an excuse to eat literally ANYTHING I wanted, whenever I wanted. I've gained 20 pounds since that day so I decided to do a few days of South Beach phase 1 to knock some of that gain off my body. I lost 5.4 pounds on the first day and still going strong today. DH and I have done this enough that I know it's too strict for us to stick with long-term but there's nothing better when you want or need to shed some pounds off fast.
I wasn't sure I'd be able to handle it with my quit and I was really afraid I'd be dealing with both cigarette and food cravings. That hasn't been the case yet. I made this really yummy oven-baked omelet for a grab and go breakfast for us, and I'm experimenting with some new flavors in our meats. I've leaned towards italian seasonings for far too long. Maybe I can even last more than the 2 days I'd originally planned on.
Not in school at the moment but I should be able to be back in classes for the Fall semester. I'm working again and have an overnight shift that will allow me to do homework and study at work so I won't be the crazy, sleep-deprived woman I was last summer!
Where are my girls at? Tmz, Sj, Liz... I know y'all are around somewhere!
