If I had more pride I might have been embarassed---this morning I was out on the bike and a runner passed me. There was a guy on a mountain bike pacing him. Granted, I was just starting out so was in a light gear and purposely not going very fast. I got going behind them and clocked him at 10 mph, not bad. After about 1.5 miles I had picked up my pace and passed them, then turned into a strong headwind and was barely going 11mph. Watch out, here they come again! Passed me again, this time they were at 12 mph into the wind--I was impressed. But I was starting to feel like a slug! Then I realized who the runner was so I didn't feel so bad....it was Meb Keflezighi, the long distance runner. If you're going to be passed on the bike, make sure its by an Olympian!
