So much drama over the weekend! As expected, my daughter's father was late in loading up her belongings. So, they didn't get down to her apartment until 10 hours past the expected time of arrival. Not only did my mother not get to see my daughter, I was unable to help her. Her father did not leave until after I left on Sunday, which may have been a passive aggressive move on his part. My daughter, learning from her fathers controlling behavior, called me to come over after I had already left. And, she was upset with ME for not helping her, claiming no responsibility or accountability for the snafus that occurred. It was so hard for me to not go to her apartment to help her, but I set strong boundaries around the timing of my Availability, and she and her father would not respect my time (the plan was that he would be gone by early Saturday afternoon. Additionally, I had offered to take Friday off to move her in a day early, but she chose to have her father move her in, "...because he will do everything for me." Oh well, I remembered Gymrat's comments on the fact that this is her path, her life to live, and I know that I cannot be codependent with her anymore. On the positive side, I got to go ballroom dancing with my mom, spend some quality time with her, and enjoy her company. I also appreciate my husband for listening to me, supporting me, and giving his advice. I think this is bringing the two of us closer together, although it annoys me to no end that he will not accept the reciprocation for his son. Blended family issues are very difficult. Lots of work today, yoga tonight. I am also thinking of doing the quantum wellness cleanse again starting in late September. Or, perhaps, I should just started on my own. The nutritionists and yoga instructor at my gym is running the cleanse, and it's nice to have a support group to do it with because it's hard giving up all of those food groups. However, my cholesterol and glucose and blood pressure are all on the rise, and I would like to stay away from drugs to counteract those numbers for long as possible. What are you all up to today? I heard that around 60,000 people are arriving in Nevada for burning man. I have fond hopes and appreciation for Gymrat!
