The makers of Motrin Infants’ Drops, McNeil Consumer Healthcare, are voluntarilyrecalling approximately 200,000 bottles of Original Berry Flavor sold in the United States because of a risk that they make contain tiny plastic particles, according to the Food and Drug Administration .
The plastic pieces, about the size of a poppy seed, were found in a lot of the pain reliever/fever reducer during manufacturing and it was not released to the market. However, investigators determined the particles originated from a shipment of the active ingredient, ibuprofen, and have recalled the lots that had already hit the market containing this same batch of active ingredient.
