Following years of play based preschool which she loved, my daughter is about a month into kindergarten, and when I can get her to give me any kind of feedback (which is rare), she tells me she HATES kindergarten. I suspect there's an unparalleled amount of sitting and paying attention. She doesn't often point to anything specific (other than saying she hates P.E. and the taciturn coach). Since she's so reluctant to talk, I use a thumb system to ask how her day was -- thumb's up, middle, or down. She's given me a thumb's down every time.
According to other parents of kids in her class, the other kids are having a GREAT time, the time of their lives.
I'm at a loss. Will this get any better? Is this just the transition period?
