OMG, BBBBRRRRR. You know it's cold when it hurts your lungs to breath outside. :(
Jean, how was your happy birthday weekend? It sounds like you did exactly what makes you happy....SKI...you are definitely an inspiration for being active, and "living your best life." Karla, how are those grandbabies? Do you see pure joy and wonder and hope every time you look at those cute, pudgie cheeks?! SJ, yes, I share in your thinking of, "I may get fired any day," as that is what corporate america does...I can't believe I just got sold to another company. :P Gymrat, are you back from vacation? If so, how was it?! Arryl, have you chosen your retreat? I know I am missing someone...sorry, I am pleading menopausal memory loss along with stress. Saturday, I did NO WORK, and, yesterday, I started to feel like I was coming down with a virus, so I made some chicken broth (along with grilled veggies), and then laid myself down on the couch to watch the olympics and beatles tribute. Oh, that was after a fun yoga class. :)
No, it's back to reality. Work, work, and more work. I have a really important client meeting today which I am very nervous about. My manager and manager's manager have been involved, so "all eyes are on me." Plus, I have two coworkers who are just trying to "skate under the radar" which reallly annoys me since they will join me in taking credit for my stress-provoking-type A-get-it-all-done-extra-work. Oh well, c'est la vie. I am doing something new, and that is to PUSH this one guy to try to do one program (I am doing nine), which is like pulling teeth. :P I have been calling him every other day, asking for an update, when, in reality, it seems that he has done nothing. :( At the end of the week, I go visit my mom. Her friends (and sisters) are now calling me, concerned, but, hey, I can't force her to do anything she doesn't want to do without a legal fight. One legal fight (my ex) is enough for me, thank you.
Today is my rest day. At the conclusion of work, I am laying my butt down on the couch with mojito and the olympics. I LOVE the competition. It brings back memories of my swimming days...all of that training and conditioning, along with adrenalin pumping effort, and the thrill of victory and defeat, but always doing your best which is all you can ever ask for! Make it a great day everyone!
