Southwestern Chili
1/2 lb ground beef, browned and drained
1 green bell pepper, diced
1/2 cup chopped onion*
3 cups water
1 (16 oz) can pinto beans, with liquid
1 (16 oz) can black or kidney beans, with liquid
1 (10 oz) tomatoes and green chilies, with liquid
1 1/2 tsps chili powder
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
Combine all ingredients in greased 4 1/2 to 6 1/2-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. 6-8 servings
*1/4 cup dried minced onion can be substituted
