I SO don't know what to do. I hardly ever post on my playgroup and don't know anyone in my current situation. The books I've read "The No Cry Sleep Solution" and most recently "Goodnight, Sleep tight." the latter deals with a gentle crying ("Sleep Lady Shuffle") method to get your baby to sleep longer. BUT, none of these books or anything I have come across deals with co-sleeping AND room sharing! I swear, someone needs to write one of these sleep books specific to people living in big cities and small apartments. I don't know what to do. I can't ever let DD cry it out even a little bit because we all have to sleep and we all have to sleep in the same room (having her sleep in the LR is not an option).
DD will be a year old next month! She's wonderful, growing well, etc. She does NOT sleep more than 3 hours at a time and that's the longest stretch she has. Once we're in the bedroom and/or she's in our bed, she wakes every hour or two to nurse. She also nurses in the morning, before morning nap, before afternoon nap, in the afternoon during a fussy time, before bedtime. She hardly eats any solids.
I'm sorry this post is all over the place, but I need help.
thanks for any advice you can offer. I guess one question out of all of this would be, considering our living situation, how can I wean her from these all-through-the-night feedings and get her to rely more on solids? I'm not ready to wean completely, but definitely want to change the night. (pacifiers, loveys, don't work either).
