I'm currently 37 weeks and after weeks worth of appointments confirming that little Baby Brayden won't budge and take a nose dive to the vertex position, we have scheduled a c-section for the 8th of May.
I'm getting a little bit nervous, I mean- I'd finally come to terms with the fact that a baby would be coming out of my vagina, now I have to come to terms with the fact that I won't be having a "normal" birth and I'll have to have major abdominal surgery.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has dealt with a breech c-section and how has it gone? Is a breech c-section done differently than one that is needed for a regular lying baby?
It's funny because when I talked to my docs about c-section they were pretty pessimistic about it- only brought up the risks and negatives and things that could possibly go wrong or horrible things that could happen to baby or me. But I know quite a few people who've had c-sections and they all have had positive experiences and say it isn't the horrible ordeal that I'm invisioning (a vision my midwife has seemed to catalyze).
Any support or insight you have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks SO much!!
