I had an appt with my gyn in September b/c with my endo, I have severe cramping for 3-4 days with my AF...sometimes so debillitating that I cannot get out of bed. And this summer, my cycle started changing...like having AF every 12-16 days. And, we had a scare in August where the pain was so severe that I actually passed out while I was making dinner. DH came in and almost fainted with fear, I think.
So, my gyn tells me after my 2nd speculum intrusion of the year that he thinks it would be a good idea to go on BC. Said that it would alleviate the pain I experience every month and would kind of quiet everything down in there. Suggested that I use NuvaRing and wear one continuously for 3 months, then remove and allow AF to visit. (normal instructions are to leave it in for 3 weeks and out 1 and then replace with another one...he said just leave it in for 4 weeks and insert a new one)
My initial reaction was "no, I don't want to take BC when I can't get PG" Not fair. I wanted to know why he wasn't recommending surgery to remove scar tissue. His answer: "I'm scared of what I will find in there" My translation: "I don't feel like working"
So, after talking to DH, we decided that I will try it and see how it works out for 6 months. -Not having ANY idea that it would cost this much!!! The office gave me 2 free rings to start and today, I had to fill my script for the next one. These things cost $70 each! I almost fainted in the drive thru at Walgreens...good thing I had the car in park!
I am not paying that much money monthly for this crap. My insurance allows $5 towards the purchase. And the website offered me a $15 coupon. So, I only paid $50, but still....I refuse to pay $50 a month. Are you totally kidding me? What the 'ell is wrong with insurance companies ????? They will pay for old men and horny idiots to have Viagra monthly but when I need something to control my serious health issue from pain, they pay $5 towards it?
I'm seriously ready to have an aneurism.
