Well, I did not spend the weekend with my kids. I went to a class on SPD with the author of "Sensational Kids." It was a great workshop with parents from through-out the country. There were about 20 of us total. It was so reaffirming and clarified some things too. I definately left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
The STAR Center was very cool, though I am not ready to switch therapists. The only thing they had that I would love to have at our Sensory room was a climbing wall. DS loves those things. We had a class full of "Sensory Seekers" so it was great to share ideas. Even if you are from out of town, you can do lots of therapy at STAR>
I wish DH could have gone too, but someone had to stay with the kids. I admire those parents that are able to really figure out how to work together. For us, I tell DH what I find out and things to do. He is not so interested in the "Why" we do things. He does see progress in DS though.
I would recommend this class for everyone. Their intensive therapy sessions are wonderful and kids can make some great progress. One thing I loved is that at STAR they do therapy on Saturdays-nice for those of us working or traveling!
