I'm Annie. Mom to Mackenzie Rose...a lovely little 21 month old girl. She was born at 34 weeks and has had difficulty thriving and really has had us on a roller coaster. Right now, we're on a high and things are manageable. As many of you know it changes very quickly.
We met with a psychologist today to discuss our concerns about her aggressive behaviors, excessive hair pulling (out), oral aversions, etc and she was so glad we are seeking help because she saw many behaviors in our 1.5 hour visit which she noted as sensory seeking behaviors. She referred us to an OT who works with sensory kids. We live on an outer island in Hawaii so help is difficult to get and we have to wait until they fly to us.
Anyway...it is nice to finally be on a road that might lead us to some tools to help us help her. I recognize some of you here from other boards and appreciate finding another source for information.
