Well, after two years of non- vaxxing dd I finally made my decision about the single polio shot and she received it yesterday. But that was all, they tried to politely push the Hep B and when I balked that a 2 year old really doesn't need a vaccine that is primarily transmitted through sexual activity I was told, "no no, it's a blood borne pathogen." "Yes," says I, "and so is HIV; I wouldn't give her that vaccine either, if it existed."
Now I actually like our doctor office; it's a small family practice and they have been so supportive of my decision to delay vaccines and then be very selective about what dd will actually get. They let me read the polio insert and insisted if I couldn't find the info I needed they'd google it or call the company. Although I was resistant due to the multiple antibiotics and the 0.02% of formaldehyde, So I was a little taken a back by the Hep B suggestion. Although when I think of it she also tried to sell me the Hib/polio/MMR all in one. Dear God, let's just riddle her immune system shall we...sigh
