I have had 2 c-sections. The first was in 1995- my water broke, went to hospital, nothing happened, hooked up to pitocin for over 12 hours, only got to 3 cm, developed fever, had c-section due to "failure to progress". Baby was 9 lbs. 6 oz. With baby #2 the ob kept telling me that if it seemd like baby would be under 8 lbs I could try for vbac. I measured big the entire time and baby was estimated to be 10 lbs at term so I had a scheduled c/s at 37 weeks- baby was 8 lbs 8 oz. Now I am pregnant with #3. I am heavier starting out with this baby so I want to be VERY careful about weight gain (although my other 2 children were not "fat" babies- they were long). Do I have hope of a VBAC this time??? My first appt is scheduled when I am 8 weeks (I am currently 5)- what questions should I ask? Thanks for any info!!
