I know it varies across the countries and across companies, but I am just curious what others have done for Maternity Leave.
Here is my situation. I have short term Disability. so with 1 Week PTO (Paid Time Off) and 5 weeks Disability, I get a total of 6 weeks for a vaginal Birth. I can only use my PTO that I have accrued up to the point I leave, which if the baby is on time or late, I will get about 19 days of PTO (If I don't take any vacation/sick time before August). So that will get me about 9 weeks (Which I don't think is enough time). DH and I are trying to figure out different combinations with my PTO, his PTO. If I come back to work and time it right I can start accruing PTO and then I can take it before I earn it. So I have to talk to my boss.
It just seems so frustrating and confusing!! I am a very detailed person and I created a spreadsheet with the different options and the pay etc that we would lose....GRRR. I just wanted to hear what you ladies all did or are going to do.
