Evan arrived at home on May 31st at 10:35am. He was 7 lbs, 9oz and I have no idea how he was that big when I was measuring small the whole way! He is very happy and healthy :)
I had 2 days of cramping and then the third night I finally realized that the "cramping" was getting stronger and consistent. I decided to just call the MW and let her assess the situation instead of guessing and second guessing myself. She decided to come out right away and found I was 6 cm already. She called the other MW bc they thought I was close. We set up the birthing tub, got the candles going and the music. It was all very calm. The contractions weren't that painful. At 5:30am, the contractions were only 2-3 mins apart so I decided to get in the tub. Well...it was TOO relaxing and my contractions stalled out. They never really came back either. I laboured for another 4.5 hours before I finally got to pushing. I'm hypoglycemic tho so by that time I was very weak from no eating and 3 straight nights of no sleep. I pushed for about 15-20 mins but it seemed like forever bc those "cramps" are not as helpful as my other labour...it felt like I was doing ALL the work and the contractions were not helping at ALL. Last time, my stomach started contracting/pushing and I was just helping that. (I much prefer it that way!!) But he came out and he is healthy and happy :) It was definitely surreal floating around in a giant tub in your living room while MWs, my DH and mother all walk around like it's a normal day.
