So a friend of mine ended up falling through the path of interventions that eventually led her to a c-section this afternoon. She's doing fine. However, when I commented about how unnecessary it was to my mother today, she pretty much attacked me. She started telling me to have an open mind and that I may WANT a c-section, that doctors know what they're doing, etc. Eventually, I told her that she needed to get on the same page as me FAST or she wouldn't be invited to the birth b/c I only need 100% support there.
She agreed to read up and watch The Business of Being Born. So I need some easy quick resources (links) that I can send her to read. It can't be anything long and complicated, or she won't read it. I need simple-to the point-websites for her to look over.
Can anyone help me out with this??
Also, I want to say that it was pretty out of character for my mom to say that stuff. She used a midwife with both my brother and I...but I really don't think she understands the difference in the maternity system now verses 25 years ago. They didn't fight the same fight.
Thanks everyone! I just want her to "get it" b/c I do want my mom there for my first baby :)
