For a while the school has had problems with my son Logan. He is always talking and interupting the class and the teacher. My ex and I decided to try to go to a mental health center where my ex works to see if we could get help for Logan. The center assigned us a sociologist. Logan and his dad went to her twice in a 3 month span. The school was pressing us to find out what the results are. After the 2nd visit my ex finally asked what was going on. They were just interviewing my ex and letting Logan play. Logan was doing his usual of interupting and non stop talking. The sociologist told my ex that she couldn't diagnose my son without taking a questionaire done by the both of the parents. So we did it. It was for the ages of 6 to 18 so it had lot of inappropriate questions for a 6 yr old. After 3 weeks the sociologist calls back and says that Logan doesn't have all the characteristics of ADHD and she thought it was part behavioral and that if we wanted to treat the symptoms we saw we could see their nurse practitioner but the 1st available appointment is in late April. We decided we can't wait that long. Logan is getting into so much trouble at school that it is affecting his and his classmates learning. I was thinking of going to his family doctor to see if he can help us. Is this the right way to go?? Is it possible that the inattention and impulsivity is all behavioral??
