Friday 5!
8
Fri, 07-10-2009 - 4:21pm

Hello, everyone! I hope everyone had a lovely week. :) Here's a new Friday 5!

1. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best), how would you rate your week?
I'll give it a solid 8 this week. Ian learned how to ride his bike without training wheels over the weekend, so he's been a bike riding fool! It's so much fun. I never knew how fun it could be to watch another person ride a bike. He is so proud of himself (as am I!)!! We've been on a lot of family bike rides this week. Last night, after Brian got home from work, we all rode down to the library. On the way back, Lucy sat in the trailer flipping through a book. It was pretty cute.

2. How did you wind up spending your 4th?
The plan was to go to my sister's house, then walk to a fireworks show, but we got rained out. It was unseasonably cold and rainy. The fireworks were postponed until the 5th. So, instead we spent the evening next door. That was fine because we were just having too much fun to want to leave. It would rain off and on, but it wasn't too wet to put on our own little neighborhood show. Between all of the neighbors, we had quite the little arsenal. The kids had a great time, as did the adults.

3. Does your church do any fun summertime activities?
I am not sure. I keep meaning to check in the bulletin, but I never remember. They usually put together a great end-of-summer/early fall rummage sale that I look forward to. I missed out on last year. I really need to start paying more attention to church activities. I've been really bad about that lately.

4. What was the last movie you saw at the theater?
Transformers 2. It was almost exactly like the first one, except bigger, louder, and with more special effects. Just a fun, mindless movie.

5. What is your favorite summertime treat (not necessarily food)?
Popsicles! I found a recipe for Jello gelatin pops. Those were my favorite when I was a kid, and they discontinued them. We're going to make these today (I hope, otherwise it will be tomorrow). I hope they turn out! Lately I'm all about trying homemade recipes for store bought items. Last week we made homemade Pop Tarts and they were delicious. Plus, the kids had a blast "helping."
