Have any of you seen this video that's been in the news lately? I hadn't watched it until this morning and I just don't know what it is I think. Some of the images were shocking, yes. I can't say that I am offended, though. I definitely wouldn't let my children watch this. I just didn't see it as a religious mockery, but more of an internal struggle. I guess I just don't think it is all that newsworthy.
If you want to see it, it's here on this iVillage flash poll that asked if Gaga went too far (52% said no): http://www.ivillage.com/does-lady-gagas-alejandro-video-go-too-far/1-a-210188?ice=iv:mb:msg:js
Just a warning: Once you see it, you can't un-see it. I definitely don't think it's safe to watch with kids around or at work. I think the sex scenes were just too over the top, even for a music video.
I read Bill McGarvey's (he's Catholic musician/writer/editor) response to the video in a USA Today article, and I pretty much agree with him. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/Religion/post/2010/06/lady-gaga-alejandro-katy-perry-catholic-rosary/1
