Is anyone still in school? We were finally done as of last Thurs. Sam and Rachel had Fri. off, and my mil was in visiting for the weekend. We had an early b'day celebration with her on Sat. On Monday, S&R started camp, and it's going great so far! They've been coming home very happy, with things to tell us, and they like their bunkmates and counselors. Yay! This is their 6th summer at this day camp. They were a bit bored by the end of last summer. We'll see how it goes this year. Sam will be going to sleep over camp after 6 weeks, so I don't think he'll hit the boredom mark. I'm hoping Rachel will be bored the last couple of weeks, so she'll go to sleep over camp next year, too! The day camp introduces new activities every year. S&R will get their first try at lacrosse, which is big in this area. They also have a water slide now. I'm curious to see what that is all about.
Sam is remembering that he likes softball league at camp. For those who don't know us ;-) Sam is NOT into sports. But, at camp, it's fun, not too competetive, and they only play for about 35 minutes at a time, LOL! Rachel (who is very into sports) is a star at the golf driving range. We are both pleased that basketball was added to her schedule. We complained last year about no basketball in the girl's schedule - maybe they listened! They have swim instruction every morning, which is important to me - one of those "life skills" I think every kid should have.
We're visiting my parents in NY this weekend, and dh and I will escape overnight without kids for a night in NYC with friends. We're seeing "Hairspray"! So, I won't be checking the board after tomorrow morning, until Sun. evening. Be good, OK? ;-)
How is your and your children's summer going so far?
