Hi ya all. Hope you don't mind me posting here, I am trying to get some different ideas and perspective about my son's summer birthday party.
How does everybody feel about a 'beach' birthday party for this age group? It actually isn't at a real beach, but rather at a lake, that has a decent sized sandy area. No way is this a drop off party, but would it be too much to have 10-15 kids around age 5, am I biting off too much?
Also if you think it could work, part 2 of my question is this. There is a little log cabin type pavilion I can rent for 35 dollars, I'd have to rent in advance. There are also tables I can rent for 2 bucks a piece that are much closer to the water. Maybe I should rent the building and a few tables too? At first I was thinking one or the other, but now I'm thinking it might be nice to have both. There are life guards there as well.
And part 3, what should I do about the weather, should I plan a rain date, or plan an alternative place in case the weather is bad?!

Last year was the first year we didn't have an at home party, and to be honest, I loved it, so we're hoping to have it away this year as well. Thanks for any words of wisdom!
