My DS is currently undergoing a special education evaluation through our school district. Although he has been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, they are insisting that in their eval they find that he is Emotionally Impaired and that although there are red flags in the AS area, they aren't finding that to be the problem.
Why would they insist on EI as opposed to AI? I am very suspicious of them as we have had trouble getting "cooperation" from them in the past.
Is there any reason I should insist on them listening to the results of our independent evaluation?
What are your thoughts/experiences, if any on this?
