My ds is 9 and has ASD (mild). He does something that I've never asked about but it drives me nutso sometimes. He will say something and then mouth what he said again (sometimes more than once). So he'll tell you something and then you can see him saying it again only not outloud. He doesn't realize he does it b/c we sort of tease him about it (not in a mean way, he laughs too). He'll say something and then do this, and we'll answer him but not outloud - just moving our mouth. And then he'll laugh and he'll try harder to not do it (but only in that conversation). I know we're probably being really mean but we are a joking family and we all pick on each other. Regardless of that - I need to know if this is an ASD thing or what? It's not something that should drive me nuts but it does. I need to learn to let it go. ;)
