Okay, the update. Alex (as you may remember, is an aspie) has been doing "fairly" well in kindergarten. He's in a regular classroom with the assistance of a resource teacher for part of the morning. He does well academically, but socially and behaviorally has been a challenge. He is not completely potty trained (REFUSES to poop in a potty), but has managed to keep his pants dry if reminded to go on a regular basis (begrudgingly). While I think the kids in his class accept him, I'm afraid his SID tends to make him react in ways that others may think he's a bit strange.
His yearly IEP is scheduled for the day after Easter. While I think we're on the right track for services, I'm nervous about him being in first grade next year, as it's a full day. I don't see his potty training getting any better, and I know this is going to have a major impact on his social interactions with peers.
Okay, this is getting too lengthy, so I'll stop here. Just wanted to touch base!
