First thing he says to principal?

It's my 9 year old's very first day of this very new school after 2 years at home with me. We were walking past the principal to get to his class and she says hi to him. There was some brief exchange about which direction he should go, each way leading to his class, kind of like a square- to get from one corner to the opposite corner, either way is fine.

So she says something about your class is that way...

And he says "WHO CARES!"

She told him to be nice. We kept walking. He had no idea that was rude since he really meant either way is fine... that "who cares" is the same to him as "either way" or "doesn't matter"... to me that was NOTHING. Oh no right?!

And to top it off we were way early and the school bell was way late because of loss of power the night before.

He tried to interact with one girl... he said something like "KITTY KITTY" and weird motions while laughing... and she just looked at him confused like "what the heck is with this kid?"

He quietly tole me that there was a kitty on her folder...

What have we gotten ourselves into? :/
