I just wanted to share something nice that Eric did today. It made me so happy! We had been playing outside and when he came in, unsolicited, he gave me a big hug and said, "I like being with you, Mom."

He NEVER gives hugs unless prompted. He has never said "I love you." He will say things like "I love french fries." So I was totally floored. This was as close to any verbal expression of affection that he has ever said.

It was one of those simple moments most people take for granted, but all of us here do not, so I know you could relate.

It is so rare. It may never happen again for another year, but it made my day and I just had to share.
