Hi all,
My name is Irene and I just recently discovered this wonderful site! I'm so excited to know there'a a place where there are people who share a similar experience as mine. I like all the information and positive attitudes here, and I know I need to change some of my attitudes about my 8 y.o. ds. He has already been Dx as ADHD, and as "at risk" for Asperger's through his school (after much struggle and resistence from the school). Now, I'm having him evaluated by an outside shrink because I really believe he does have it. He's very bright and sweet, but I don't feel all his needs are being met under the current diagnosis.

Just over the past week or so, he has been to the Principal's office twice and today, he was at the school shrink's office. He has a very hard time controlling his anger when something sets him off and I never know what will do it. I try to stay one step ahead of him by trying to arrange his life just so, in hopes of preventing unwanted behaviors, but there are infinite possiblities and I can't seem to be able to predict what the future holds! ;)

Anyway, I'm doing my best and I'm hoping to find support on this board and that I can learn some "tricks of the trade" from the experienced members.
