I have a 7 y.o. that WAS diagnosed with autism at 5 y.o., then taken to a psychologist and she said NO, it wasn't. It was the PPD NOS thing LOL. To me, this is a fake diagnosis. What is NOS? not otherwise specified, basically they don't know what is wrong with my son!? So how does a developmental pediatrician say it's autism, then he changes his mind when he gets the other psych opinion. So we HAD state benefits thru DDD when he had autism and they recently kicked him off. the school will do nothing for him, as they said he was doing fine in school for 2 years now. Well he just recently started doing poorly. Well not poor,but not 'normal' either. He has to take summer school for reading comprehension. He just doesn't get it. He is in 1st, going into 2nd grade next year. Just wanted to get opinions of other moms with kiddos with the NOS diagnosis. sheesh! frustrating, to say the least. Oh ya, I'm Nicole, btw.
