RUBY...re: custody and lawyers..please read...m
Hi. I didn't get to your post on the old board before it archived and sweet and miz offered great advice already, but there are a few other things you need to REALLY consider when hiring an attorney.
First, as the other ladies said, the COST of the attorney is not really the predominant factor re: whether or not they can be successful at representing you. It is NOT true that you can buy a verdict with a high powered attorney although many abusers believe this (mine does).
Happy? Birthday to Me...may it be better than the last..& my wish for the coming year..m
mizlizzy: source of "emotional blackmail"....Post 54, Archieve 296
I found this information at the following website:
http://www.angelfire.com/vt/rcwn/Pagefifteen.html
The information was gathered by Lauren LaBate, a crisis volunteer and a student of a Victimology course. She also did a review of the book entitled Emotional Blackmail by Susan Forward, Ph.D.

The smorgasboard is laid out, yours for the taking. Choose what you want, and enjoy it! Tell the Omelet Chef just what you want... ask yourself, "What do I want?" LOL, ok, the Spicegirl's song "Tell Me What You Want, What You Really, Really Want" suddenly popped in my head...., but, what do you really, really want for your future?
Build your omelet, and please, tell us one thing you really, really want. As you do this, please think about how you can make it a reality, not just a *want*....

Some time ago, while on a speaking tour of high schools in the Northeast, I was scheduled to address students at the State School for the Blind in Batavia, New York.
That year I was presenting a program on world affairs based on my experiences traveling in Africa. To illustrate the program I used several artifacts.

In my head, In my face - oh the rollercoaster - I hate them! . . .
A quote I saw in my Self magazine that I had to share with all of you! Hugs!
**I've learned that you shouldn't be afraid to change; instead, be afraid to stay where you are....If you let fear of change rule you, you will live never knowing there is a fuller life out there that is yours for the taking.**
After seeing this I tore out the page & have since taped it to my computer monitor! My new motto to help me stay *focused* on getting DD & I *out*. XOXO--Ruby
