Liz's therapy (arg, argggg, argggggg <--said like Tim Taylor)

Ok, this home improvement stuff is working! I bought a storm door and put it up myself, put a peep hole in my front door (drilling is kinda fun) and today I am building a mantel for my fireplace.

Ive been so busy! I even made Christmas gifts for my family. I scanned some really old photos of my parents and us as kids and then transferred them onto fabric. Im making really elegant pillows for the family for Christmas.

Myths and Facts About Domestic Violence

(The Family Violence Project of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, 1995)Someone posted this awhile back, good info.

What WOULD we hope they said to us?

Since we certainly came up with lots for folks NOT to say to us on the now archived board, What might you really want someone to say to you when they learn of your abuse?

When you don't think you deserve them, your rights are there. When you decline to exercise them, they are waiting. When your abuser lies to you about what your rights are, the truth is out there. Let's explore some of these rights.

Does He Really Want to Stop?

Signs of Rehabilitation

1.He accepts responsibility for his violence (or abuse).

2.He goes into treatment without you.

3.He goes into treatment with no strings attached. Telling you, "I'll go if you will come back, if you will do this, do that" is

going into treatment with strings attached. Saying that is in effort to regain control of you.
