Hoping my story helps someone

For two years, I lived in fear of my life. I had my nose broken several times, too many black eyes to count, a broken pelvis and numerous bruises. That was the easy part.

I was told on a daily basis that I was stupid, fat, ugly, worthless, etc. I was made to do things that I normally wouldn't do sexually, because it was easier than a beating. My abusers biggest strong hold over me was my pets. He held a knife to my kittens throat to get me to do things that I didn't want to do.

Strength and Courage ( 10-10)

It takes strength to be firm It takes courage to be gentle.

It takes strength to stand guard. It takes courage to let down your guard

It takes strength to conquer. It takes courage to surrender.

It takes strength to be certain. It takes courage to have doubt.

It takes strength to fit in. It takes courage to stand out.

It takes strength to feel a friend's pain. It takes courage to feel your own pain.

It takes strength to hide your own pains. It takes courage to show them.

I found this today and it gave me chills, thought I would share it with all of you.

Today another woman died and not on a foreign field and not with a rifle strapped to her back, and not with a large defense of tanks rumbling and rolling behind her.
