I have a question I'd like to ask anyone who's willing to answer. First, I'll give a little background. Yesterday, I was talking to some friends and the topic of "selling out" was brought up. One of my friends started naming the names of those (in the public eye) who she feels is a "sell out". In your opinion, what makes someone a sell out?? And can someone who has sold out ever come back "home", so to speak??

Recently, several members have mentioned concerns about slang and language use on the board. Please remember that "Women of Color" may mean different things to different people and there may be many members lurking on your board. I know this is your "safe haven" a place to vent, to gripe, to laugh and to share your experiences, but please keep in mind that some terms, especially slang references, may be considered racist and inappropriate to some members, so please choose your words carefully.
Hey there honies!!!! Just one more day 'til the weekend!!!!
How did you meet your Best Friend or your closest friend? How long have you two been friends?

I can't recall if I posted this link or not, but I lost it and it took me a while to find it, again, so I decided to share it (again) anyway.
It is an excellent resource page with links for everything related to black travel (similar to http://www.africanamericantravel.com). It is just a little more varied in its offerings, and even has a Black College Football Classic Roster for all of the HBCU fans out there!
That way you can start a mail group for planning the m-n-g away from the board, just to be a little safer!
An older lady gets pulled over for speeding...
Older Woman: "Is there a problem, Officer?"
Officer: "Ma'am, you were speeding."
Older Woman: "Oh, I see."
Officer: "Can I see your license please?"
Older Woman: "I'd give it to you but I don't have one."
Officer: "Don't have one?"
Older Woman: "Lost it, 4 years ago for drunk driving."
