Hi All! I'm new on the boards and was feeling frustrated. Hoping to get some advice. I'm 31 and recently moved from a major city in the North to a small town (home) in the South to finally finish getting my bachelor's degree. Here is the question: I'm feeling very isolated and frustrated. I expected it when I'm on campus because most of the kids are ten years+ younger than me, however off-campus the story is just as bleak. Most women my age are either married with kids or single with kids. They seem to all be in a different place in there lives than me.
Hello ladies,

Just had a scary experience with some creeps as I was walking up to my apartment late tonight. I know it was kind of late (around 1 am) but they were saying crazy stuff like "yeah run!", shouts etc - designed purposely to make me scared. My heart was really beating when I got in but at least I have faith that I'll be okay. Has anyone else had that type of experience. What do you do to make your apartments safer? Please reply. Thanks.
Is it natural for a guy to have just about every serial killer film on tape and be fixated on death? A guy friend of mine does. He has even asked me how I would find being murdered least painful (by electrocution, drowning, stabbing etc.) This spooks me out somewhat. When we were watching Village of the Damned he was very peculiar indeed. When I've previously seen him, he is normally very civilised and never raises his voice, but with that film he started shouting advice at the characters on the screen to kill the unmanifested aliens and their hosts.
It made me cry!!! LOL I thought it was good, depressing and sobering. I liked the dialogue between Luca and John. The part when he said "You Americans fight from the sky..you bomb the city and then you land your plane back onto a ship" well it was something like that.

A DINNER CONVERSATION

WOMAN: What would you do if I died? Would you get married again?

MAN: Definitely not!

WOMAN: Why not - don't you like being married?

MAN: Of course I do.

WOMAN: Then why wouldn't you remarry?

MAN: Okay, I'd get married again.

WOMAN: You would? (with a hurtful look on her face)

MAN: (makes audible groan)

WOMAN: Would you live with her in our house?

I finished this book last night! And it was GREAT! I first got into this author after we read a selection of his (Supreme Justice) at the Ebony Corner Book club. This is another great book! Instead of focusing on Marshall, a character in Supreme Justice, Danny and his issues with race are the focal points to the novel! It's a great read, suspenseful til the end! I really enjoyed it!

Next up, "Selah's Bed" by Jenoyne Adams (also the author of Resurrecting Mingus). Got it from Black Expressions and I'm excited to start a new novel!

Sorry......I posted them in the wrong place, look under Celebreations! Hey it is a celebration b/c it's FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!

!~Pisces~!

I don't know about ya'll but this move has put a strain on my finances. Yes all my bills are getting paid, but dayum, I can't shop the way that I'm use to. I really have to think before I buy!!! I can now understand when people say their check is gone before it's cashed. I will say I'm so grateful for this experience. I think it's the best thing to do before buying. Well it was the best decision for me. I can't wait to get a house. I truly know what I can afford now. My ideal of the house payment I thought I could afford and reality are very diff. LOL
that makes less money than you? This is the question of the day on the radio station I'm listening to. As a women would you date a man that is struggling financially? What are the reasons you would and what are the reasons you would not? They also ask for the men would they date women with money problems? Or a woman that wasn't working at all? It was a funny segment.

What do you think?
