November Task Senses "Papa's Message"

Softly the cloud loomed in the distance, its rim edged with a silver glow that pranced in the fading light and made Madeline fell mellow as dusk began to settle on the dense Australian bush.

"You know Monte, I was just thinking," she began slowly her voice tinged with trepidation. "Perhaps Papa lives in that cloud?

Madeline wanted the child to talk, since his grandfather's death two weeks prior the little six year old had not said a word. Monte’s favourite play toy had gone, and the child didn’t weep.

HI, MY NAME IS KRIS AND I AM MARRIED, AND THE MOTHER OF TWO. I HAVE RECENTLY DECIDED TO WRITE A NOVEL ABOUT A WOMAN ON DEATH ROW IN FLORIDA, STRICTLY FICTIONAL. I HAVE DONE TONS OF RESEARCH, AND AM HAVING A LOT OF TROUBLE GETTING STARTED. ANY IDEAS OUT THERE WOULD BE GREATLY APPREACIATED. PLEASE SEND ANY INFORMATION YOU HAVE TO MFKFAFSF@AOL.COM. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP, KRIS.

Writing horror

I wanted to comment on writing horror... to see if any of you feel the same. As I've mentioned elsewhere, The Natural, written just for this contest, was the first thing I've written in a long long time. I was scared, um, witless to submit it.

Congratulations!

The winners did an excellent job, and deserve congratulations. But I also want to congratulate everyone who ENTERED for finding the courage to finish and submit something. The fact I actually finished something and sent it off to be judged (scary word!) is worth a lot to me, and it should be to you too!

"The Natural"

I thought it was a great story. It made me laugh when the character was going on and on about what he had drawn/killed. Like it was getting ridiculous. I am not sure that is what was suppose to happen but I started to find it funny. At other times I was scared.

getting started

I would like to know how to get started in writing children's books. I have some ideas that I think would make great stories and have even tried my hand at witing. i just don't know if they are any good and if they are where do I go from here. Please HELP me!

Congratulations to the winners

Comfort Food was an excellant story, I really liked the ending. The Natural was great, so eerie. The way she started with the ending, I still didn't know what was coming. I am deeply impressed. I wish I could write horror but it's not my cup of tea. Congratulations to all the winners!
