I was going to share my humble offering...BUT it won's submit. sorry. N/T
Congrats to the winners of the contest
They stories were absolutely fabulous. I can see why they were winners. Jennifer, all I have to say is you are much braver than I am to post your story. After reading the 2 winners mine seem so small in comparison. You go girl! My story shall remain in the hall of shame. lol

My scary story attempt: Spirit Nonsense
Dear Friends,
I am eager to read as many of the contest entries as I can. After reading the top two winners, however, I felt a bit intimidated about posting my feeble effort and I was afraid that others might feel the same. The following represents the biggest act of courage demanded of me this Halloween holiday. I'm hoping that after I post mine, the rest of you will feel encouraged to post yours.
Sincerely, Jennifer E. King

Yeah! The Scary Story winners are now posted!
Congratulations to all the winners! I just finished reading the two top winners' stories. They were EXCELLENT! Great job Sdkoh and Ravenlb! Thank you for participating and giving us such a treat.
I hope the rest of you will post your entries to this board soon. I am eager to read all of your stories.

November Writing Exercise--A West Texas Holiday
A West Texas Holiday
writerinspe
I'm vriting a novel based in Iran in the last year before the overthrow of the shah. Due to the sensitive time period, the readers will find a fair amount of both politics and history of the region voven into the story. A friend advises me against it, telling me to write two separate books, but not to mix these issues with my story. I think not only it's not possible to separate them, but it shouldn't be done. I wish to hear your opinions. Thanks, Monika
Oct. contest
Good morning from Calif. Between dealing with a day-after-Halloween sugar overdosed 3 year old and stacks of laundry, I have been attempting to find the results of the Oct. writing contest. I checked the writing center home page...no luck. Am I looking in the wrong place? Also,I'm very interested in reading some of the submissions...will this be possible? Well, I'm off to wrestle a bag of M&Ms from my sons determined little fist...I do draw the line at candy before breakfast. I'm such the 90,s mommy.
Quote of the Week:
"The most difficult task for a writer is get the right 'voice' for his material. By voice I mean the overall impression one has of the creator behind what he creates."
Posting Problems This Week End
If some of you tried to post yesterday, you know that iVillage had some problems with their hyper news boards. This problem was worked on all day yesterday and we can now post again.
Thank you all again, for your patience.
