The Art of Living by Marcia

"Bon soir," said Lucie to the Creole belle in white linen and lace, a madras scarf around her waist, shoulders bare, ropes of pearls around her neck, gold earrings, her braided hair pinned up under a colorful tignon. Sylvie hugged her and welcomed us to the Auberge de la Vielle Tour.

Three line statement at the top of a submission

I took a journalism class in collage and I can't find my assignments, so I was wondering if anyone knew...

There's a statement (three lines I think) that you are suppose to put at the top of all your submission to editors. Something about holding the rights to this story/written work in accordance to all North American rights.

That way your protected (well supposedly) from someone receiving your story and publishing it under their name.

Anyone know the answer to what I'm talking about?

New to this site....Interested in the class

I have been writing along time, mostly because I enjoy it and find it a way to remember what I don't want to forget. I am single and turning fifty and have so many great stories, about myself, my friends and my observations on the single life. I just started a piece called "In case I get Alzheimers......" and it is very funny. I daydream about getting my work out there, but, I feel with so many writers and so much related material out there what chance would I have. I will continue writing and tune into the class.

I'm new to the writing center and have a question....

Hi! I love this website, but I have a question regarding the writing center. Are the classes done in a chat form? Also, how do I get feedback and critique on my work? I love to write but haven't in a long time and I am very rusty right now. However, the imagination still works and the wheels are turning...so I believe there is hope :). donns_98

Chat Transcripts

I've been looking for the transcript of writing class Jessica did on writing horror. All I can come up with is class notes and cant tell which one is horror. I've searched for chat transcript and came up with four on Editing and rewriting. Can someone steer me the right direction. Thanks.

Jessica a little board secret...

When you get to the board click on Expand board at the top of the page. Then go up to the address box and take out the word outline and type in embed. Then click enter. All the messages will open up.

Then when you are reading then you can do the same to the responses. Use your back command to navigate. You don't see your posts that way but it will go faster.

Chat last night was fast and enlightening.

Wow that chat was going!! I did learn a few things. I have been trying to get the object and rules of this board down. I have mentioned this before. Anyhow, I think that I got alot of my questions answered. And I have been composing a "Feast for the senses" story in my head.
