I'm looking for a glossary of publishing terms online. Any suggestions. Terms like: flap copy. I'm writing a play about a author and need to weave these terms into the play. Thanks!
A storm is rolling in. Lights are flickering...
Looks like I may loose power. I plan on joining you in the class tonight but, if I don't, you'll know I'm sitting in the dark watching the wind blow down trees. Just in case I don't make it, I'll wish you all a great chat tonight!
new here, quick question
I see a lot of information for people writing novels, but I am curious about writing childrens' books. My mom has written a couple childrens' books, and she would like help with that but doesn't know where to go (without spending a lot of money). Can she get help with that here??
A Question...
Ok, I'm sure that this has been discussed before, but I'm new to ivillage so humor me if you will...
writing children's book
Hi, I have a children's book that I feel is complete except that I have not done any illustrations. I am not a good enough artist to convey what I would like with the pictures. In this instance, may I submit the text without illustrations? I don't want it to get tossed just for that. Also, do I need an agent or can I simply submit it to publishers? It's a very specific book and I would be submitting it to publishers in New England, at least at first. Thanks for any information you can give!
Getting an agent
Hi
Hello and Thanks
I just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone here... I've been reading your posts and feel like I'm getting to know some of you.
New to these boards
Hi! I'm new to these boards, but saw them mentioned in other areas. Could someone take the time to explain a little more in detail just how these work? How are works submitted for discussion?
Any help would be appreciated. There was a Snoopy poster one time that said, "To Live is to Dance; To Dance is to Live." Substitue "write" for "dance."
Blessings to all and thanks!
