Hey Kathy Thank you for the email and those sites I will get back to you on the page as soon as I can. n/t
How to finish, or get started again?
While waiting for the Nov. exercise, I thought I would ask a question about one of the biggest problems I have with writing stories: finishing them. How can I overcome the inertia that seems to settle in me about a third to half way through the story? I have a rather large number of stories I began that I just never seem to be able to finish.
Technical Trouble???
I don't know if I'm having trouble with my computer today, or if it's something on the site, but when I tried to "jump to the new writing exercise" it didn't take me anywhere. So...what IS the new writing exercise? Can somebody post it here for me, or e-mail me? smile_b@ivillage
Wow! Here we go again! Quote of the week:
". . .Nonfiction shows serious attention to the craft of writing. It goes far beyond the journalistic "inverted pyramid" style--with interesting turns of phrase, fresh metaphors, lively and often scenic presentation, a shunning of cliches and obvious endings, a sense of control over nuance, accurate use of words, and a governing aesthetic sensibility.
WHOA..first on the new board with a question..*grins
Greetings Everyone.
I have recently finished an exstensive outline of my work in progress. I had come to a large fork in the road, and FINALLY after 2 weeks, the characters started speaking to me, and we are on our way.
Due to the nature of the story, there are four pivitol characters. Each of them has an important role within the large storyline, and their own sub storyline, which links the four characters together. (I HOPE you are still with me!)
The question I have is this.....
Hello Everyone! *waves*
What About YOU Writing a Children's Story Picture Book?
I'll bet most of us Moms and Grandmoms have often thought about writing a story picture book for our little ones. I had an idea come to me a few years ago that I took and incorporated into a naptime/bedtime story for my granddaughter, Skylar. She loved it! In fact, every child I have told the story to has loved it!
New to this area
Well, I stumbled onto the Writing Life boards and am still having a great time reading those. Than I found these boards and my sigh was one of pure contentment. I would, however, like a little morei information on how they work, i.e., posting/sharing writing material.
Thanks for any direction given and blessings to all!
