NATIONAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
HELLO EVERYONE, TODAY I RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING STORY IN MY E-MAIL WITH THE REQUEST TO PASS IT ALONG. NORMALLY, I DON'T PASS ALONG CHAIN LETTERS, NOR WOULD I EVEN CONSIDER POSTING MOST OF THEM ON THE BOARD. THIS STORY, HOWEVER, NEEDS TO BE PASSED TO EVERY PERSON THAT WILL READ IT OR TO ANYONE YOU CAN TELL IT TO. PLEASE, READ THIS STORY AND TELL IT TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW.
KATHY
Just a quick word of thanks...
I'd like to express my gratitude for the information I have discovered in the writing class notes. After almost a decade of trying to write a novel (and only getting to the first page or two), I now have 17 pages down and believe that will lead to many more.
I am not an "official" member of the class--as an on-line educator in real life, I'm not comfortable jumping in mid-stream. However, I am so excited about finally writing meaningful dialogue that I just had to say thank you.
Good luck to all :)
Question re writing contest
I submitted my entry on 10/23 at about 9:00 p.m.est, is there any way of knowing whether or not it was received? Also, as I said before, the format changed when I e-mailed it to you. Is there a way of preventing this? I would like to know in case I submit anything in the future. Thanks again for helping this cyperchallenged fledgling writer.
HELP PLEASE
I just tried to e-mail my writing contest enrty but I'm not sure it was received. Also, it appears that the format went all "off" which I'm afraid will detract from my story. Surprise, surprise...I'm new at both writing and using a computer. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!
This has probably been answered somewhere here but I can't find it
When and where will we be able to read the winning contest stories? I am anxious to read them. I think I read somewhere the date they will be posted, but I can't seem to find it again. Also was this contest just for ivillage people or was it open to anyone? Good luck to everybody and to Jessica, I know she will have a tough decision as to which story will win.

Which Board to Post?
Note to JustPat2:
Dear Pat,
In a post above, to Jessica, you expressed some doubt about whether or not you have the talent for fiction. My personal opinion is that you do have the talent, but I don't think that's the real question.
In general I think anyone who is a good poet is, by definition, a great writer. Poetry is intense. In poetry great concepts and overwhelming emotions are borne by a single word or phrase. Poetry is music with no instrument but the reader's mind. To use words in that way is to be a master.
Hi!
Hello, everyone, I'm not sure which board I should be posting on. I am already on Poet's Corner, which I love, but noticed this one and another one that looks interesting. My children are all grown, so while my husband is at work I have some free time to write during the day...enjoy poetry and short stories mostly. Enjoy inspirational and scary, too. Like variety. Hope to get to know everyone soon, jo
Excited about Ghost Story
Another Question
I really want to participate in the writing class, but I was wondering, since I missed the exercise for OCT, when is the exercise for NOV posted?
Looking forward to starting to write again.
Jenn
