Assignment Story
A Story from the Kingdom of Wester
Once upon a time, in a kingdom far away, there lived two brothers. They were twins. Bumper was the oldest twin by two minutes. He was a big, handsome lad, with bold eyes and an adventurous spirit. The younger brother, Boswell, was tall and slim. He had soft blue eyes matching his gentle ways.
The two brothers lived in the Kingdom of Wester. Their father was the Head Caretaker of all King Ian’s animals, a most prestigious position.

AT the moment I am busy reading Bird by Bird, and the Art of writing Fiction.
My question was more based towards the little conitations i see on this board such as -- and for example _hello_.
I will eventually get around to reading books on publishing, but am concentrating more on the writing books for now. I was really wanting to know what the general (-- and _ _ ) meant so i would know when I read some ones piece.
A Very Short Story - Take 2. I took some of your suggestions and rewrote it. Please tell me what you think
