REMINDER: October's Writing Exercise
Quote of the week:
"It is usual that the moment you write for publication--I mean one of course--one stiffens in exactly the same way one does when one is being photographed. The simplest way to overcome this is to write it TO someone, like me. Write it as a letter aimed at one person. This removes the vague terror of addressing the large and faceless audience and it also, you will find, will give you a sense of freedom and a lack of self-consciousness." John Steinbeck

Question about writing exercises
This is my first time here. My kind of board!! Can just anyone submit her story to this board or is there some sort of signing up ritual to go through first?
Oct. Writing Exercise - Short Story
Hi, First timer here
Hi, I'm planning on attending the Wednesday night class for the first time on Wed.,(10/6) and have already copied & pasted over 40 pages of prior classes. Can anyone give me a less time consuming way of doing this, or should I just plug away? Thanks in advance for your assistance. :) (See how hopeful I am?)
Terri
Are we supposed to post comments to the stories posted to the board?
Posting comments to the writing exercises would probably be a lot easier than trying to get our comments in during one of the ever-so-slow and sometimes confused chats. Comments could be fuller, more spontaneous, and easier to express.
Andromaeda asked about developing characters.
Judy's advice about interviewing them is very good. (Her advice is ALWAYS very good.)
Confidence
Just wanted to thank you all for reading my story. It has really boosted my confidence. Maybe I will even get around to finishing that medical thriller I started two years ago. Felper
