Caseyjones100 asked about submitting stories.

Dear Caseyjones,

Please check the main bookclub/writing center area for details about the contest.

Yikemom was asking where to go next in her story... Writing description:

Without reading your story, I can't really help you. My only suggestion is write as much of the description as you can stand. You can always edit it out later if it's boring and unnecessary, meanwhile it can enrich the rest of your writing by inspiring details depth that you wouldn't otherwise have considered. If it gets too boring to write then, of course, don't write it. Better to get on with what interests you in the story since that is probably what will interest your readers.

Amazed and new here

I just wanted to say that story was great felper, I am new here and now inspired to write my own.

sorry...a little premature.

Hi, I think I jumped the gun posting my commentary on cars I have known....I will attend the Wednesday night sessions, I think it's great...but I'll be away this week.

I am a retired newspaperwoman. Indecision has two projects on hold. One would be a novel about being a teen=ager during World War II...the rationing, the blackouts, the pathos of seeing ALL the young men going off to battle.

Wow! Thank you, felper!

What a great way to open the new board! Brrrh! Another chill just raced down my spine.

Thank you all for the fantastic posts on the last board. I'm looking forward to seeing more great stories from the writing exercises and questions from our fellow writers.

Post away, gentle writers!

October writing exercise...a short story

"ME"

I remember that dreadful night ten years ago like it was yesterday. I wonder now how I ever lived through it. It doesn't seem to bother Josef, thank heavens! In fact, I don't think he even remembers it. Sarah? Well, she still cries when she thinks about it. Needless to say, we threw the Ouija board in the fireplace on that night...

Golly-Gee-Willikers, whatever happened to me? º¿º

No member introducing herself. Warning: long message loaded with questions

Hello everyone. It's great to see so many others interested in the pursuit of writing. I joined iVillage today specifically for the features available to writers. I'm a novice with bulletin boards -- have read some for research purposes but have never posted. So, please forgive me if I proceed to break a few rules.

My Sister

Hi i was just wondering how do i go bye writeing a book about my sister, i lost her last year and i have a lot to say.

Question?

I seem to have a lot of trouble when I get into a story. I start thinking about all the different ways it could go and eventually don't know which would make the better story so I give up. Any suggestions on how to overcome this problem???
