Suggestions on how to find writing groups?
I'm finally writing on a daily basis and am really excited about this novel. I'd like to find a way to echange manuscripts and critique others work while they critique mine. Where would I find something like that? Does anyone know of anything on the internet like that? I used to a few years ago, but can't find anything now. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Christa
Thanks For The Welcome cl-judyb
Thank You jennifer_e_king
Thank you for the advice you gave. I had so many ideas that were there and couldn't decide wich one to go with, so I jumped in and started writing and when I did that it seemed as if everything were falling into place.
Thanks So Much, Yvonne

Hello Everyone I'm New and I Need Help!
Quote of the week--description:
"Remember, description is subject to a viewpoint. In other words, it's a function of who is doing the seeing and how he is feeling. Descrition is a slave, not a master. It enhances what you're doing, but it's not there for its own sake, just as a decorated stage doesn't have much interest until the actors arrive to perform their parts." Peter Rubie
NEWS ABOUT NEXT WEEK'S "WRITING CENTER CLASS" (9/15/99)**ATTN: Romance Writers!
Next week, Jessica and I will be in New York. However, Jessica has a very special guest, CL-Writingmom (many of you know her as "Shirley"), who is a very talented writer and published author.
ATTENTION: Due to Technical Problems, Jessica's Sept. 8 Chat (Topic: CREATIVITY) Has Been Rescheduled to Wed. 9/22/99
Due to circumstances beyond our control, there was a power outage at iVillage approximately 10 or so minutes into Jessica's chat Wednesday night that caused the server, authentication/registration process, and the chat room to go down. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Plan or Let it Happen?
There are plenty of books out there that talk about a books 'structure' ie plan your book vis a vis plot, character, theme etc. and how to structure it first. I've come across some famous writers who talk about they don't plan at all, they don't know what their novel is going to be about when they start, they just write and the characters etc and story creates itself. Which is the best method?
