The Fighter

Damian lay quietly on the ground, his chest burning, crushing the breath out of him. He was afraid to move, afraid to speak. The pains came suddenly while he was walking, taking him by surprise. He hated surprises, hated the lack of control he felt with them.

Here is first story, Hope this is the correct board for this

May Exercise - armadillo road

Disclaimer - This is a work of fiction. When I began writing, I intended to write a memoirish essay about the day Charles Whitman climbed to the top of the UT tower and began shooting, and the effect that day had on me. However, I was only six, and my memory of detail is not as strong as memory of impression and emotion. Therefore,I would feel dishonest to print this as fact.

Even Now

EVEN NOW

"So Emily, are you happy?"

Happy? Define happy. She wasn't ecstatically happy, no. "Yes, I'm happy."

Contentedly happy. "And you?"

"Happier than I thought I'd be."

She looked up. She tried not to notice the way his hair still curled over his ears. She remembered how her fingers used to pull on it gently while he was sleeping. Yes, he looked happy.

Help I want to get started!!!

Thanks Lynn
