Part 1 - December Exercise
Okay, y'all. How am I doing so far? What did I overlook? I'll admit I didn't read the article on character bios again. Not yet. Just felt like I HAD TO POST. Been a while....Be gentle.
********* It seems Grady was born high on himself. His mother spoiled him rotten because he almost died at birth. As a result, none of his 7 brothers and sisters has anything to do with him. In school, he was the class-act bully. He grew up in rural ___________and plans to stay there.
Part 2: Carly's lot in Life
$.50 question
Hi. I have a question on part one of this month's exercise. Should we do a laundry list of who this person is, or more narative? I have some of a laundry list and I'm finding that I can see my character in different settings during her life. So, I'm not sure which way to go.
Thanks

Dec. Exercise.....part I
Here is my laundry list. It is very short and sweet, but I believe will get me there!
Darlene Brooks Age 45 Blonde, (on a good day), Hazel eyes, 5’4”, weight: undisclosed, by choice. Divorced, one son, age 20 and away at college. Darlene is experiencing her first unmarried Christmas season and is invited to a party in which there are many divorced and single men and women.
Story to follow!
We are writers, after all. (m)
The last time this exercise was done, we read character biographies that said things like "Carol Trane was an only child of rich parents." It went on to give the laundry list of the personna of Carol Trane.
I must admit the first two posts are much more entertaining than a laundry list.
I must also voice my fear that we might not know all we need to know about our character. Favorite colors and foods might not come into play in the story we are writing. Making her brown eyes blue might be a problem.
