Let's Stuff the Ballot Box! (m)
Writer’s Digest is looking for votes for your favorite writing sites. This happens every year and we made it once, not last year but the year before. Isn’t it time to put iVillage and Readers & Writers back into the public eye? I think so.
You don’t have to vote for this particular board, although I’d love to see it in print when the list comes out. Pick your favorite message board or the entire community.
Hey, I’m from Chicago where they always say “Vote early. Vote often.”

Writing exercise
Hi Friends
I am in Cape Town, South Africa and enjoy writing and reading especially novels. I have just started writing a short storie on my life experience and I would appreciate it if you could assist me with editing my work as I am not a professional writer. My aim is to publish my work as my situation may interest a lot of other women in my country who are experiencing the same problems that I am.

Childhood memory - The muck and the mire
"Saturday Night"-grownup theme, 1 strong word. Oct. Ex.
“What a crappy day this has been,” I said as I pulled our old car into the drive. No need to shut it down- it gave its customary cough and stalled.
“Yup,” she answered.
October Exercise #2 - "Our Sweetest Time"
I'm awake but my eyes remain closed, my breathing regular. I hear the loud tick, tick, tick, of the clock in the next room and I am aware of the slight heaviness at my feet. Beside me, I hear shallow, raspy breathing. My house and my room are still and dark.
Quiet, like an exhalation, I whisper my puppy's name, "Sy-y-y-y-y-y-ydney-y-y-y-y-y."
