Us Weekly has spoken to some of Rihanna's friends, who have revealed that Ri and Chris have had some pretty nasty fights in the past, and are saying that the couple's relationship has always been "volatile."
Pals of the pop princess are also implying that this may not have been the first time Chris got physical with the singer.
After seeing bruises on Rihanna's neck back in December, "I asked is everything was OK with her and Chris," Ri's friend said. "She told me, 'We broke up again.' I didn't pursue the issue further."
